With a demanding career and 2 kids, I rely on the flexibility of at home workouts and the reliability, anytime availability, and support of a trainer dedicated to helping me meet my goals. My husband I were just saying how working with you has really given me good balance. Ending the calorie deficit last week, this week I was able to enjoy a burrito bowl, our neighbor's graduation taco truck event, and I even got to enjoy a burger to support a black owned business for Juneteenth! Before I started working with Katie to try and change body composition, no one ever really told me that you can't gain muscle and lose weight at the same time. Or at least most people have a very difficult time doing that. And while it was really hard to leg go of wanting to see X pounds on the scale while I try to build muscle, it's also been freeing. Stop focusing on the numbers on the scale and start focusing on the numbers of the lifts. I mean, I still struggle with it sometimes, but if I'm honest I'd have to say I;m less interested in weighing X than in *looking* like I weight X, which aren't necessarily the same things. Just have to be patient and do the work consistently...over the long term.
